2001 PINOT NOIR
RALPH KYTE-POWELL and HUON HOOKE
THE AGE EPICURE UNCORKED, Aug-Sept 2003
This new Yarra Valley brand attracts attention for its good quality and rather European accent. This pinot is a lightly perfumed young wine with strawberry and earth aromas, and a light, soft palate that's long and gentle. A bottle can disappear with unseemly haste.
Food: charcuterie.
Ageing: drink over the next year.

The 2001 pinot noir is a light wine with nice pure pinot aromatics, hints of spiced plums and plenty of red berries. The palate, too is light, fine and refreshing with good structure and a fine finish. To be enjoyed as a young wine, it will be good for the next three years.
