“… An uber bright crimson purple attests to the concentration of fruit in this low-yielding vintage. An intense and impressive core of dark cherry and blackcurrant fruit sits alongside aromas of violets, cedar and a little black olive tapenade. The palate is just as engaging and concentrated and the tannins are ripe, powerful and long. It's good now and it'll only get better over the next decade or so.”

Tasting Notes:
Red cherry, licorice, floral notes, brambles and dried lavender with a whisper of roasted chestnut. The aromatics are quite lavish in their expression, mahogany and middle eastern spices. The palate shows tight red berry fruit, spicy cherry and plum, cassis and a gentle acidity giving a fresh edge. The tannins are suede like and the oak shows a spice and gentle smokey dimension. The length of the wine is impressive and new flavours seem to emerge with each sip. A special site and a top year for Yarra Cabernet combining to great effect!

2022 will be remembered for the tiniest yields in a decade resulting from poor flowering conditions in our parts of the Yarra Valley. The quality of the resultant wines of this vintage however are outstanding with both concentration and finesse.
